Peggy Marvell Romero

Peggy was born on August 28, 1952, in Beaumont, Texas, to the late Horace and Verna Burford. She had a deep love for tending to her yard and found great joy in cooking for her family. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Peggy’s warmth and selflessness touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Loeb and lived her life guided by faith, family, and kindness.

Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Marcel Romero, and her brother, Michael Burford.

She is survived by her children: Kris Romero and his wife, Ashlinn, of Lumberton; Brian Romero and Kayla Smith of Mauriceville; Mark Romero and April Todd of Austin; and Katie Romero of Cypress. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Burford of Benton, Arkansas; her sister, Martha Gilbert of Houston; step children, Doug Romero and family, Dwayne Romero and family, David Romero and family; her cherished grandchildren: Paisley Romero, Gage Romero, Kennedy Romero, Paige Romero, Cale Romero, and Samuel Romero; and her precious great-granddaughter, Hattie Romero.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Romero, Tyler Murphy, Chris Danna, Chris Danna Jr., Cade Danna, and Bryan Irving.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, also at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Brother Travis Hood officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Peggy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
