

Dick was born on October 16, 1923 to Walter and Amelia Dyson in Orange, TX. He was a Beaumont resident for 72 years. He married Jane Ellen Ellis on January 16, 1949. Dick was a Past Commander for the VFW Post #1806 for 8 years, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #951 as well as the American Legion Post #33 and Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, crabbing, and especially family get togethers.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
His survivors include his 3 sons, William Dyson, Gary Ball and Larry Ball all of Beaumont; 3 daughters, Windy Dyson Armas of Beaumont, Cynthia Dyson of Vidor and Linda Walker of Beaumont; 20 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and a special friend, Maurilio “Magui” Torres.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be Friday, July 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the “Garden of Eternity” of Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
