Samuel Cardenas, 60, of Vidor, died Friday, August 2, 2024 at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston. A lifelong resident of Rose City, Sammy was a accomplished carpenter, he enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his friends and family.

A Celebration of Sammy's Life will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont,

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Sammy was preceded in death by his father Noe Cardenas, and his brother Paul Cardenas.

Sammy is survived by his mother Juanita Cardenas of Lavon, TX., his sons Eric Benfield and Derick Benfield both of Laurinburg NC. and Asa Cardenas of Nederland, brother David Cardenas of Beaumont, sisters Helen Ford and her husband Kenneth of Lavon, Sallie Myers and Alice Cardenas both of Beaumont, and his two grandchildren Kenlee and Gauge Benfield.
