

Sidney Frank Elliott, 79, of Beaumont, died Saturday November 14, 2015, at Harbor Hospice of Southeast Texas. He was born June 19, 1936, to Jesse Lee Elliott and Rosie Lee Hight Elliott, in Beaumont, Texas. After graduating from Beaumont High School, Sidney enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. After serving in the Air Force, he worked for the Beaumont Police Department, and he later worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and retired as a supervisor of fire and maintenance.
Sidney was an active member and Elder of First Christian Church, Beaumont. He devoted his life to family, friends, and his church. He volunteered at many local organizations. He loved helping others. He always took extra effort to make someone's day brighter with his smile, humor and jovial personality. He is known as the Sunday church service greeter that hands out candy to each and everyone he greets. He always had a pocket full of candy to offer to others. His smile, sense of humor and jovial personality won the hearts of many. He always placed the needs of others above his own.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jo Elliott of Beaumont; children Sydney Anne Cornwell of Beaumont, Jeffery Elliott and his wife, Evelyn of Lumberton. As well as, his sisters Melba Moses, Barbara Auch and Glenda Jordan; grandchildren Ryan Citrano, Kyle Cruse, Ashlyn, Maddy and Blaine Elliott; and great-children Kyler and Karson Cruse.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Darrell Elliott.
A gathering of Sidney's family and friends will be from 10:00 am until 11:30 am, Thursday, November 19, 2015 at First Christian Church, 5290 N Caldwood Beaumont, with his funeral services following at 11:30am. His interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
