Betty Lou Reed

Betty Lou Reed, 85, of Beaverton, OR passed away on 9/11/2015. Betty was born on Nov 29, 1929 in Waterloo, Iowa. She moved with her family to Phoenix, AZ in 1942, where she graduated from North High School. She married Earnest R. Marion in Phoenix, AZ on Nov. 24, 1950. During his active military career they traveled the world, spending time in Alaska and Japan as well as Louisiana, South Carolina, Texas and Arizona, while raising four children.

She was a Past Worthy Matron of Acacia Chapter # 46 Order of the Eastern Star in Avondale, AZ, a member of Beaver Chapter #106 of the Eastern Star in Beaverton, OR, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Beaverton. She enjoyed making teddy bears and quilts for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Bessie Mae Allen, her brother Charles Allen, her husband Earnest Marion, her second husband Harold Reed, and her oldest son William Donald Marion.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon Durley (Richard) of Pheonix, AZ; Barbara Dahne (John) of Portland, OR, her son Thomas Marion (Trisna) of Pheonix, AZ, eight grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
