Born on June 3, 1955 in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Wenrich and Marion Schaeffer Wenrich of Marysville, PA.
Cindy graduated from Susquenita High School in Duncannon, PA in 1973 and then attended Harrisburg Area Community College. A 1983 honors graduate of Long Beach State University, California, Cindy became a CPA with a specialization in tax accounting. Cindy began her accounting career in the Los Angeles office of Peat Marwick Mitchell, one of the prestigious “Big Eight” accounting firms, but spent most of her accounting career with Cocke, Szpanka, and Taylor (CST), CPAs, in Reston, Virginia. She made many close friends during her two decades at CST. Cindy’s spent her final working years working remotely for Claudio A. Haug, CPA, Newport Beach, California, retiring in 2019 after a 36 year-long accounting career.
Surviving Cindy are her husband of 46 years, Alan Vick; daughter Megan Vick; son Jason Vick, daughter in law Alyssa Kent, and grandson Charles Vick. She also leaves behind close friends, former colleagues, and relatives in Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, California, Washington, and Texas.
Cindy was gentle, warm-hearted, kind, wise, and thoughtful. Although on the quiet side, even people who only knew her casually commented on how she always had a warm smile and friendly word. Cindy was a loving wife and a devoted mother who was happiest spending time with her family and close friends. Some of her fondest memories were from summer vacations in Prospect Harbor, Maine—a frequent destination when the kids were young. In later years, Cindy loved to travel with Alan and together they visited many lovely places, including the Hawaiian Islands, Canada (Victoria, Montreal, and Quebec City), the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, and Italy. She also made many trips to visit family and friends in California, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Georgia.
Cindy will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a truly exceptional woman.
At her request, Cindy’s ashes will be scattered off the coast of Dana Point, California, where Cindy and family had many happy memories.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.peggpaxsonspringerfuneralhome.com for the Vick family.
