

Betty was born on October 31, 1915 in Philadelphia, Pa. As a youth she was a nationally ranked tennis champion at the Germantown Cricket Club. She married Thomas Francis O'Donnell in 1942. She lived in Elkton, Md. and Rutherford, N.J. before moving to Beaverton in 1991. She was always active in School and Church projects - serving as Girl Scout Leader for ten years; President of the Grammar School P.T.A., the Catholic Woman's Club and Rosary-Altar Society; Director of the Rutherford Blood Bank and Treasurer of the Rutherford Woman's Club in N.J.
In Beaverton, she became an active member in the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Social Concerns Ministry and the St. Theresa Guild.
A rosary, a mass and reception will be held at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 5105 SW Franklin, Beaverton, Oregon Monday May 8. The rosary begins at 9:30 am, the mass follows at 10 am, and the Reception follows the completion of the mass. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Eileen O'Donnell La Chance, her son-in-law, Pierre-Andre La Chance, and her brother, Edward, (Ted) Peters of Ardmore, Pa. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Francis O'Donnell in 1996 and by her son Tommy O'Donnell in 2004.
