Esther Alix Jones

June 29, 1917 – December 13, 2012 January 5, 1920 – December 15, 2016

Roy and Esther were married on May 17, 1941. They raised their three children in Portland.

Roy retired from the construction industry in 1980. Esther was an accountant for AT&T.

Roy and Esther have spent many happy years camping with their friends, spending weekends at various beach homes (including the one they built themselves in Bayshore, near Waldport), lunching with their Oldie Moldie friends every other Monday, and attending Village Baptist Church.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband (after 71 years of married life); her parents, Alexander and Katherine Petersen; her sister, Eleanor Allen; her brother, Alexander Jr.; and two of her grandchildren, Tina and Benjamin Jones.

Esther is survived by her children, Barbara Grosz, Roy Jones, Jr., and Kathe Arthur (Chet); grandchildren, Daniel Grosz, Deanna Henkel (Kevin), Denise Parkrosz (Jason), David Malone (Cindy), Debbie Stokes, Christina Bias (Shan), Matthew Arthur, and Sarah Arthur. They had seven great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

Esther will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
