Frances Jane Cetinich, born September 21, 1933, in Portland, Oregon, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 6, 2026, in Beaverton, Oregon. She was the beloved daughter of George & Palma Cetinich.
Frances grew up in a loving family with two sisters, Rosemary and Jacqueline, and two brothers, George and Daniel.
Frances attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Grade School in NW Portland, and St. Mary’s Academy Catholic High School, graduating class of 1949. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Portland, Oregon until she retired in 1990.
Throughout her life she was known for her kindness, generosity, compassion, infectious laugh and a deep love of her faith, travel and cultural endeavors.
Frances had many hobbies, she was an avid tennis player (playing into her 80’s) swimmer, and snow skier. In keeping with her Croatian heritage, Frances also loved making a traditional Croatian Ribbon Shaped Holiday cookie called Hrustula. It was a special treat she shared during the holidays with the family.
Frances is survived by her brother George (Maria), and her sister Jacqueline (Robert). She is preceded in death by her parents, George & Palma Cetinich, sister Rosemary (Bill), and her brother Daniel (Dana). She also leaves behind a large extended family of nieces-grand nieces, nephews-grand nephews, and special friends.
Frances devoted her life to her family, faith and many charitable organizations. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
