

Glenda Lynn Peters née Carter, born 1947, Clackamas Oregon to Curley and Helen Carter, graduated Estacada High School 1965, Good Samaritan school of nursing 1969, Portland State University 1980, died in her sleep on March 27, 2026. She was 79 years old.
Glenda devoted her life to serving others both as a nurse and as a volunteer with multiple organizations: She served in leadership roles in The Beaverton Arts commission, Oregon Nurses Association, and foremost the Beaverton Woman’s Club and Oregon Federation of Women’s Clubs in multiple roles including state President and serving in the General Federation of Women’s Clubs at the national level. She never joined a group she was not willing to lead.
Glenda was also a decades long member of a book club and a parliamentary club. She was devoted to supporting the arts and an avid antique collector enjoying most of all the hunt and the joy of discovery and a great deal. In retirement she enjoyed attending live music and stand up comedy events, and spending time with her grandson.
She is survived by her brother Mark Carter of Estacada, Oregon, daughter Bethany Peters of Chicago, Illinois, son Blaine Peters and wife Lindsay Zarate of Portland, Oregon, and grandson Salter.

Celebration of life at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday May 2, 2026 at the Elsie Stuhr Center (5550 SW Hall Blvd, Beaverton, OR 97005) in the Manzanita room.
