

Judith Ann Johnson Peck, 75, of Beaverton, Oregon passed away, December 11, 2013. Judy to all who knew her was born in Portland, Oregon, April 28, 1938. She attended Catlin Gable Elementary, Fowler Junior High School and Tigard High School.
Judy's grandfather, Emil Johnson founded Tigard Lumber Company in 1916 and her father Victor Johnson worked by his side until 1940 and then took over the business. When Victor retired in 1962, he sold the lumber yard to his brother-in-law, Jim Aitken, and in 1974 Judy worked for him displaying her best skills by managing the office, customer service, payroll and bookkeeping. When Jim retired Judy continued working for the next two owners, Willamette Industries and Lumberman’s. Johnson Street in Tigard is named after the family.
Judy had an artistic appreciation of music and expressed that studying piano. She studied music in California and Oregon and became an accomplished pianist, performing with and accompanying local choirs, including the Tigard High School Choir until graduating in 1955. She also became a member of the Portland Golf Club and enjoyed her time on the golf greens with her girlfriends. Her delightful sense of humor was a hallmark of how Judy’s family and friends remember her. She always had a joke to tell and a laugh to share.
Judy is preceded in death by her mother, Helen ‘Lee-Lee’ Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Molly K. Peck and cousins in the Oregon and Washington region.
A Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Judy would have wanted donations be made to the following: American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
