Bob graduated from Stayton High school in 1951 and then served 2 years in the US Army. He and Arlene were married at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown, Washington on April 14, 1956. They lived a year in Stayton, where he drove a log truck. Later Bob entered the Sheet Metal trade, bringing the family to California for 10 years. In 1968 they moved back to Oregon where they bought property in Beaverton, built their home and raised their family. They also raised beef cattle and a large garden for the family. In later years they spent many happy days R.V.ing with family and friends. He enjoyed being out in the woods and nature. After Bob retired he and Arlene made longer trips in their R.V. until his health made that impossible. He spent time reading and visiting with friends and family. Bob loved his Faith, attending daily Mass and Rosary and helped as he could doing odd jobs for the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon and working in the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, among other things.
In lieu of flowers, Masses may be offered in his memory or donations may be made to St. Cecilia’s St. Vincent de Paul Chapter. Funeral arrangements made by Pegg Paxson & Springer Funeral Home.
