He was born on November 22, 1947 in Manila in The Philippines. He received his Bachelor Degree from the University of Santo Tomas in The Philippines. Odie worked as a finance director for the City of Beaverton and as budget manager for Portland Community College before retiring in 2009. He enjoyed golf and loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs.
Odie is survived by his wife Germelina Sarmiento of Beaverton OR; daughter Sara Salat of El Dorado Hills CA and her husband Ryan with grandchildren Cooper and Beckett; son Jason Sarmiento of Beaverton OR; four siblings and grand-dogs Lumpia, Butter and Soda.
A Celebration of Odie’s Life will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 5105 SW Franklin Ave in Beaverton OR with the Rosary at 10:30am and the Funeral Mass at 11:00am with reception following at St. Gerald Guild.
