

Please join us in celebrating the life of our beloved Arleen Kay (Hummel/Hash) Perkins. She joined our earthly world on Monday, December 11, 1939 born unto LeRoy “Skeet” and Leta (Steed) Hummel of Portland, Indiana.
She graduated from Indiana Central College (a Methodist Church-affiliated university currently known as University of Indianapolis) and went on to teach about four decades of elementary children throughout her career, including teaching many of her students’ children. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church where she always found a way to be of service. She blessed multitudes of souls throughout her journey as she cherished her old rugged cross.
On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, she at last laid down her trophies and exchanged it for a crown as she joined our Heavenly Father to our Home far away, where His glory she will forever share.
She was survived by her husband, Richard “Nate” Perkins, Sr.; her children Richard “Nate” Perkins, Jr., Jennifer Dawn (Hash) Brown and husband Denis “Deny” Brown, David Wayne Perkins, and Dr. Jeffrey Dean Hash and wife Dr. Patty Scott; grandchildren Melanie Arnold, Amanda Bonnick, Barbara Eubanks, Abby Perkins, Jacob Perkins, Cody Brown, Shae Brown, Kacie Brown; great-grand children Daesha, Kayla, Eva, Dietrich, Ethan, Curtis, and Scout.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy “Skeet” Hummel and Leta (Steed) Hummel, her brother, Roger Hummel, and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lee Perkins. Mamaw, Grandma, Mom, Ma, Arleen, you will forever be in our hearts and greatly missed.
