78, of Carmel, IN died April 27, 2014. Ione, as she was known to her family (Leigh, as she was known to her friends), was born in Warren County, KY, April 18, 1936. She retired from St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove after a long and varied career in nursing, education and hospital administration. She is survived by her children, Rev. David (Corinne) Denoon of Webster Groves, MO, and Leigh DeNoon (Robert) Littiken of Morocco, IN. Leigh was the proud grandmother of Gwendolyn Denoon. Five brothers and three sisters also survive. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 2nd at 1p.m. at Little and Sons Funeral Home in Beech Grove. Visitation with the family will follow until 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would especially like to thank the generous caregiving staff at Clare Bridge of Carmel and Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care.
