Margaret "Peggy" Alene Pickard Sluss

Margaret "Peggy" Alene Pickard Sluss, age 72, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021. Peggy was born April 4, 1949 in Jackson, Michigan to the late William Edward and Margery Griffith Pickard.

Peggy graduated from North Central High School in 1967 and went on to attend I-U Bloomington. Throughout her life she loved working with children. She worked at a daycare, pre-school, in the school cafeteria and loved teaching Sunday School at church. She was kind, sweet and had an incredible accepting demeanor. She never knew a stranger and could make friends with anyone. She had friends from all walks of life and loved to help others. Peggy had an adventurous spirit and was an inspiration to many. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She loved serving the Lord and was very active in her church. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing and praising the Lord in song.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years; John Sluss, Children; David (Kristen) Sluss, Mardi (John) Denny, Ken (Tina) Sluss and Sarah (Andy) Karr, grandchildren; Gavin, Avery, Adeline, Owen, Alena, Jonathan, Zachary, Isaac and Dylan, great-granddaughter; Delilah, sister; Beverly (Mike) Swinney and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy is preceded in death by her brother; William "Chip" Pickard IX.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Little and Sons Beech Grove Chapel from 11:00am-1:00pm. Funeral Services for Peggy will begin at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.
