Mike was born November 29, 1949 to the late Joseph Linville Sr. and Velma Ruth Linville in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Michael is survived by his life partner Barb Anderson; his son Jason (Angie) Linville; his daughters: Shannon (Eddie) Hendrickson and Brooke Linville; his siblings: Joyce (Ronnie) Roembke, Tom (Becky) Linville, Carl Linville, Mary Linville and Teresa Linville; his grandchildren: Victoria and Nicolas Hendrickson, Hannah (Danny) Turk, Grace and Abbey Linville; great grandsons: Arlo and Oliver Turk, his fur babies Lilly and Zoey, as well as nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his brothers: Joseph R. Linville Jr. and Patrick Linville, and his best friend, Mike Curran.
Michael enjoyed working out and spending time with his dogs, friends and family.
He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School class of 1967. After high school he served in the Army and then went on to complete his Criminal Justice certification at University of Indianapolis.
Mike was a Beech Grove police officer from August 28th, 1972 until March 8, 2004. He was, at one time, the Department training officer and a member of SWAT. He received numerous letters of commendation and the Department's Valors Award. Rising to the rank of Captain of Operations, he was an instructor from 1985 through the end of his career in 2004.
His experience consists of 18 years as a road officer and three of those years in the supervisory position of Shift Sergeant. His career was highlighted with the Kiwanis Policeman of the Year in 1974, 1976, 1982, and 1983.
A public visitation for Michael will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
Michael will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, 435 W Troy Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225.
