Phillip L. Leonard, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away December 15, 2017. He was born on November 7, 1938 in Mattoon, IL, the son of the late Lawrence “Bruce” and Fern (Carney) Leonard. He was a US Army Veteran and retired from Eli Lilly in 1993. Before joining Eli Lilly Company he was an Electrician with the New York Central Railroad. He was a member of the Indianapolis Southside Chapter of H.O.G.
He is survived by his daughter, Jana Leadingham (Josh); his sister, Jo Ann Leonard Vanoy (Rollin) and his brother, Donald E. Leonard; and nieces, Rachel Long; great-nieces, Grace Long and Natalyn VanZee; nephews, Joe Fox and great-nephews, Dr. Joe Fox II, Gabe Long and Maverick Long.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 from 3-8 PM at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main Street, Beech Grove, IN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Little and Sons in Beech Grove. Burial will be in Orchard Hill Cemetery in Wanamaker, IN.
