

Rosemary was born to Christopher Hulsman and Rose Habig on May 17, 1910. She was the youngest of nine children, all who have preceded her in death. She attended St. Elizabeth Academy in St. Louis, Mo. for high school after her mother died. Her older sister, Sister Calista, also was studying at the convent. She graduated from St. Vincent’s Hospital with a R.N. in nursing in 1932.
She married Leo S. Evans in 1933, and was the mother of seven children; Patricia (deceased), Roseann, Frank, Michael (Mickey) (deceased),
Leo, Jim and John. Lee died in 1964.
She worked labor and delivery at the former St. Elizabeth’s Home in Beech Grove and St. Francis Hospital. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church for numerous years. In recent years she lived at St. Paul’s Hermitage in Beech Grove.
After her children were grown and Lee had passed away, she moved to Winnebago Nebraska to assist her brother Monsignor Frank Hulsman, at his Indian mission St. Augustine.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. She will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, and loving ways. She always had time for each of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Roseann Hamel-Harris;Frank (Kathy) Evans; Leo Evans; James (Janice); and John (Mary Ann). She is also survived by her loving grandchildren:Brad (Barb) Hamel; Brian (Debbie) Hamel; Bryan Evans (Kay);
Scott (Shannon) Evans; Angela Evans; Mark (Celina) Evans; Michael (Michelle) Evans; Patty Jo Evans; Jeffrey (LeAnn) Evans;
Dr Jennifer Dunlavy (Myke); Jocelyn (Joseph) O’Leary; Jason (Katie) Evans; Laurie Clodfelter (Paul); Matthew (Raegan) Evans; Mark (Deidre) Evans; 30 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul Hermitage in Beech Grove on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 4-8 P.M. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Little Flower Catholic Church in Indianapolis.
