Roy George Helweg

Roy George Helweg, age 82, passed away on Sunday March 10, 2019. Roy was born August 10, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Josephine (Miller) Helweg and Fred Helweg. He retired from Lily and was a member of Southport United Methodist Church. Roy enjoyed woodworking projects with his friends, including making bed frames, cradles, and dinner trays. He liked to travel and go out to eat as well. Roy especially enjoyed having people over to play in his pool, mostly his grandchildren who he loved to have around playing and having a good time. Roy is survived by his son, Scott Helweg (Lisa); daughter, Lori Strack (Don); grandchildren, Donnie Strack (Sara), Emily Rockwood (Brad), Neil Helweg, and Cole Helweg; and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be Friday, March 15, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
