

89, passed away June 20, 2013. She was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Frank and Vivian Marks.
Ruth spent her childhood on Grand Island, NY; moved to Clifton, NJ in the 1937; and moved to Indianapolis in 1941. She married Thomas Snyder on June 19, 1945.
Ruth and Tom worked for Western Electric for 32 years and were active with the travel group Voyager 1000 for which Ruth was a cabin attendant.
After retirement Ruth and Tom headed a volunteer organization called Toys of Love that repaired damaged toys and donated them to orphanages. In 1995 these toys ceased to be available, and shortly thereafter Ruth became involved with an association that repaired Talking Books for the blind. She co-chaired this group with long time friend Neil Hameetman. Ruth was a charter member of the Indianapolis Zoo and the Senior Promise organization associated with St. Francis Hospital. She was always available to help neighbors with errands and pets.
Ruth is survived by her son Harry Snyder; granddaughters Elizabeth Snyder and Dawn Koehn, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom and daughter Sharon.
Visitation will be held Sunday June 23rd from 2:00-5:00PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Monday June 24th at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
