Toni attended Beech Grove High School. She was a known athlete, participating in volleyball, basketball, and tennis. She was the first girl to receive an athletic scholarship from her school and though she only stood at 5'4'', she managed to earn the record for vertical jump. A record she still holds to this day. Toni graduated in 1975, and went on to study at Franklin College.
Toni was a talented musician. She taught herself how to play a 12-string acoustic guitar and even wrote her own music.
When she wasn't playing music or loving on her animals, Toni was working at the Post Office as a mail carrier. She worked there for 20+ years before retiring.
Left to cherish Toni's memory is her mother; Rowena (Hutchings) Hess, her siblings; Edward D. Hess III (Linda Gold), David W. Hess (Vickie Gish), Rebecca C. Hess; and many nieces and nephews.
Toni was preceded in death by her father; Edward D. Hess Jr..
A graveside service for Toni will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.
