Ascension "Chony" Crucet passed away peacefully in her home on September 29, 2012. She was born on July 31, 1942 in Cebreros, Spain to Ireneo and Francisca Gonzalez. She married Fernando Crucet on August 12, 1965. Together they raised two children, Fernando and Laura.
After living in several cities when arriving in the United States she settled in Houston in 1988. She soon started working at Southampton Montessori where she stayed until her retirement.
Chony is survived by her husband Fernando; son Fernando III and wife Krescent; daughter Laura and husband Chris; sisters Paula, Rosa and Pilar, grandchildren, Hunter, Holden, Julian and Will and numerous other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank all her friends who were a great comfort during her last months. We would like to extend a special thank you to Gloria Blake for her friendship and love of our mother.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m.. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.
It was Chony's wish that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale St., Memphis, Tennessee 38105
