January 5, 1914--- November 16th 2016
Bud almost made it to 103! His engaging personality inspired all he met. Always energetic and active – He still drove and went to the gym.
Born January 5th 1914 in Brooklyn, New York and attended Pace University.
As one of the “greatest generation”, Bud served during WWII in Africa as a Captain in the Army. His service included defense artillery officer and later heading several building projects.
He married Zelda Frank in the 1940s.
He became an independent businessman at a young age. He invented specialty children furniture that was ahead of its time. He held patents in the 1950s for these inventions that focused on safety, including introducing car seats and other products for young children. He worked with his wife to produce and market these items.
Bud left New York after his wife passed. He took up bike riding when he came to Houston in 2004. He did a number of MS 150 bike ride from Houston to Austin, the entire distance in his 90’s. He continued regular exercise, humor and logic until the day of his death. His family of friends at the Stella Link YMCA and his coffee clutch will miss Bud.
Two children Rhett and Jade survive him; both board certified physicians in two specialties and both have fellowship subspecialty training.
May his memory forever be a Blessing.
