Carolina H. Jaramillo

She was born on October 8, 1921, in Corpus Christi, TX to Hipolito and Juanita Hernandez.

Carolina was married to Jose Jaramillo on June 5, 1946, and they shared 51 wonderful years together as husband and wife.

Carolina was a beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. Carol was the proud mother of her four children, and a dedicated sister and aunt to her ten siblings and their children. Carol and Joe moved to Houston in 1962, where they happily lived and raised their family. She worked as a seamstress and homemaker, valuing and loving most her treasured role as “mother.” Once her grandchildren were born, she added devoted grandmother to her list as well. She loved her three grandchildren and enjoyed spending her time with them. To many Carol was best known for her wonderful cooking. She had a drive and passion for life often working from sun up to sun down, living every day to its fullest. She was often found working in her yard and garden, crafting, or caring for the many dogs she loved. Carol was also a devoted Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hipolito and Juanita Hernandez, her husband Jose Jaramillo, her daughter Carol Mitchell, her son Joe Jaramillo, her sisters Leonore Ortiz, Janie Hernandez, Connie Garcia, Ester Reyes and her brothers Fred Hernandez, Manuel Hernandez, Richard Hernandez, Louis Hernandez, and Rudy Hernandez. Carolina is survived by her daughters Mary Stork and Debbie Wheeler, her grandchildren Russell Coburn, Jeremy Jaramillo and Melissa Marroquin, and by her sister Helen Ribera.

A memorial service will take place Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m in the chapel at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris Street, Bellaire, Texas 77401.

A reception will follow at Haven Restaurant, 2502 Algerian Way, Houston, Texas 77098.
