Charles Truitt McCarver, M.D.

Dr. Charles Truitt McCarver, 97, passed away on July 1, 2021. He was born in Olney, Texas on February 18, 1924 to Onus Truitt McCarver and Ladye Francis Shepherd McCarver. He graduated from Houston Reagan High School, The University of Texas in Austin, and The University of Texas Medical School at Galveston. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and Korea. He was a family practice physician in Houston, Texas with Jack C. Westmoreland for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, travelling, and playing cards and dominoes with his church and AARP friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Barbara Mae Orr, brother John, daughter-in-law Karen Ruth, and great granddaughter Daphne. He married and is survived by Betty Frank Luehr his wife of four years, and her family. He also is survived by his children Patti Lacy (Greg), Tom McCarver, Peggy Billingsley (Rusty), Kelli Emerson (Rex), and Karen Mayer (Jim); grandchildren Barbara (Dion), Jon (Zion), Laura (James), Tricia (Elsi), Garrett (Keri), Bryan (Mallory), Leigh Ann (Vince), and Drew; great-grandchildren Madison, Kaci, Noah, Truitt, Felix, Elian, Evelyn, and Aubrey; nephew John (Laura), and nieces Lydia and Fran (Franklin). He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, July 9, 2021 and Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 10, 2021, both at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet St., Bellaire, TX 77401. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
