Mr. and Mrs. Spratlin,

I wanted you to know what a beautiful, intelligent, and loving young woman Chelsea was.  She was a student in my IB Math SL class last year.    Every day she walked into the classroom with a smile that brightened the room.  She always worked hard to master the material and was more than willing to help other students that were struggling with some concept.  She was in my last class of the day, and  she always helped to end my day on such a positive note.  She was loved and respected by the other students and by me.   I knew she would be a success in college and in her future career.

I was so saddened when i came home from being out of the country to learn that Chelsea had passed.   I am so sorry that I could not be at the funeral to tell you in person that Chelsea had such a positive impact on  the lives of so many people.  I have taught many students over the years and Chelsea will always stand out as one of the best.  You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Chelsea and I were not extremely close, not to a “best friend” standard  anyway. However, every time that I did see her, she made me feel as if I’d known her for years.  She was the “mother” of our friend group: the super-responsible one, the one who made everyone text when they got home safely, woke them up with coffee.  I will miss her, her saying “you’re valid”, and the immense amount of love she had to give all very dearly. 

Chelsea was one of my best friends. She was so loving and kind, and found good in everyone she met. I remember the last time we hung out, we had gone to H-E-B, Marshall's, and to get Pho. She was so excited and nervous to start college, but gave me one of her shirts because I had spilled something on mine. I keep that shirt with me all the time. 

My son Alex and Thomas have been friends since Herod Elementary.  I recognized Chelsea from knowing Thomas, and then I had her in class at Johnston.  She was a delightful student.  Your beautiful, sweet girl is so missed.

To The Family please except my heartfelt sympathies on the loss of your loved one. I work at Lamar but don't know your daughter personally but just hearing about her sadden my heart.  I'm sending healing prayers and comforting hug to the entire Family.

Chelsea and I went to elementary school together, and whenever I think of her or picture her in my mind, she is smiling. She was always so genuinely kind and sweet and in a good mood. I still remember the positive energy she brought with her everywhere, and although we didn’t see each other much after elementary school, whenever we did run into each other, she still had this bubbly, exciting personality that made everyone around her happy. I am sending all of my love and prayers to her friends and family at this very difficult time.
