David Lee Beck

David Lee Beck, age 67, of Broken Arrow, OK entered into the arms of his Savior at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX on Friday, August 2, 2024 following complications from treatment for leukemia. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, Inola, OK with pastor Jim Bryant officiating.

David was born in Nowata, OK on August 8, 1956 to Robert S. and Mary Jean Beck, the younger brother to Cory and John. The family moved to Durango, CO when David was five years old and he attended school there, graduating from Durango High School in 1975. He later attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK, going on to earn his Airframe and Powerplant (A & P) license. He worked at McDonnel Douglas, Rockwell and Boeing in Tulsa for a total of twenty years. He then became a licensed plumbing and HVAC contractor and advanced his career to retire in 2022, after completing twenty years with the City of Tulsa as a respected and well-liked supervisor with the Parks Department.

In the summer of 1981, David married Pam Lees in Tulsa. Shortly thereafter they moved to Inola, OK where they raised their two sons, Cory and Ryan. As their family grew, so did their faithfulness to the Lord, serving Him at First Baptist Church and later Calvary Baptist Church until moving to Broken Arrow, OK in 2015. David was an exceptional husband and father and soon-to-be grandfather, putting his family before all else. He never missed an opportunity to express his love for us. He was very involved in his sons’ activities, especially Boy Scouts where both achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Known for his mechanical aptitude from an early age, David was often called on to assist family, friends and neighbors with car and home repair problems and was generous with his time. David also greatly enjoyed fishing and spending time at the family’s cabin at Electra Lake in Colorado. Always the jokester, he loved to have fun and tried not to take life too seriously.

David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pam Beck of Broken Arrow; sons Cory (Casey) Beck of Broken Arrow, OK; Ryan (Kateri) Beck of Broken Arrow, OK; brothers Cory Beck of Sioux Falls, SD and John (Susan) of Norman, OK; brothers-in-law Deril (Robbin) Lees of Tulsa, OK, Larry (Pam) Lees of Pryor, OK and Steven Lees of Tulsa, OK; and many nieces and nephews. David is preceded by his parents, Robert S. and Mary Jean Beck, nephew, Marc Lee Beck and sister-in-law, Cherry Beck.
