Denise Elaine Bernard was born May 30, 1952 and died April 30, 2011. She was the loving daughter of Robley Joseph Bernard, Jr. and Barbara Ellender Bernard. She taught elementary school students for 29 years. She was born in Houston, Texas, and lived there all of her life. However, she was proud of her southern Louisiana heritage. She was a devout Catholic. Denise enjoyed having great times with many family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her sister, gardening, cooking, eating and playing bridge with friends, and geneology research. Her newest hobbies after her retirement from teaching were shopping at estate sales, jewelry beading, and Sudoku. She was proud of her sister-in-law Linda and nieces and nephew Rachel, Hannah and Daniel Bernard. She is survived by her father Robley and her sister Patricia Bernard both of Houston, and her brother Bryan Bernard of Chicago. The family is deeply appreciative for the care Denise received from Memorial Hermann Hospice as well as the wonderful caregivers. The family and friends who assisted and supported Denise and her family hold a special place in our hearts.
