Eleanor J. Motil

On the morning of August 26, 2023, Eleanor J. Motil passed peacefully at the age of 104 years and will be buried subsequently on September 5, 2023, in the Oakview Mausoleum at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Eleanor was born to Frank and Gera Razorsek on February 24, 1919, in Clairton, Pennsylvania. Eleanor spent most of her adult life in southwestern Pennsylvania where she was actively involved in family life and the education of her children. After moving to Houston, Eleanor became a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She belonged to the senior group, Young at Heart, and served on its Board. Eleanor was a member of the Rosary Guild and will be remembered for the many rosaries that she made for the Missions. Eleanor also was a member of the Diocesan Senior Senate for five years and served on the Religious Committee.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Motil; her father, Frank Razorsek; her mother, Gera Barlic Razorsek; her sister Frances Kovacs; and her brother, Edward Razorsek. She is survived by her son, Albert-James Motil of Los Angeles, California, and her daughter, Kathleen J. Motil, M.D., Ph.D. of Houston, Texas.

A memorial mass will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on September 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Houston Okonma, Celebrant.

Mother, you are loved very much and missed by your children. God’s loving arms took you to your heavenly home to rest in peace.
