Evelyn Schlader

She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 15, 1925. Evelyn attended Rice University. She was married to Dr. Jerome Schlader on August 10, 1946.

Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother. Her many accomplishments include performing in the Alley Theater’s second play, AARP volunteer tax preparer for 5 years, Silver Life Master bridge player, President of Corpus Christi Theatre Guild and co-chair of Temple Beth El’s annual blood drive for several years. Evelyn had a passion for travel, ballroom dancing and bridge.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Mary Karchmer, Dr. Ray Daily and former husband Dr. Jerome Schlader.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter Mara Greenberg and partner Sammy Toys; sons Dr. Jerry Schlader and Louis Schlader; daughter Ann Cummins and husband Jeffrey; grandchildren Kara Gross and husband Adam, Matthew Greenberg, Brigett Hill and husband Josh and Kyle Cummins; great-grandchildren Skylar and Rory Gross, Jaxon Hill; sisters Norma Stone and husband Don and Madeline Covens.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 4:00PM at Levy Funeral Directors. Graveside service on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Seaside Memorial Park 4357 Ocean Dr, Corpus Christi, TX 78412.
