

Grace G. Novilla, age 81, of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on January 19, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 11, 1944, in Manila, Philippines, to Lazaro Gutierrez and Virginia Panganiban. Grace was the eldest of 8 children.
Grace lived a life filled with faith, kindness, and generosity. She devoted the first part of her adult life to education, inspiring many students with her passion for learning at the University of Baguio, Baguio City, Philippines. Later, she transitioned to a career in medical records coding at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, where her diligence and warm spirit earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends until her retirement. Grace delighted in watching classic films at local theaters and exploring new restaurants with friends and family, always eager to try unique dishes and share laughter over a good meal. She cherished spending time with loved ones during holiday’s, special occasions, and memorable outings.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, Ferdinand and Francis Joseph “Kiko,” their spouses, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her beloved siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews, and all who were touched by her kindness, warmth, generosity and unwavering love.
Grace’s warmth, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 5th at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to an Alzheimer Dementia Foundation in Grace’s memory.
