Helen Goggan Gorman

Helen Goggan Gorman died Friday, February 25, 2011, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Gorman and by two children, Elizabeth G. Chaput and Tommy Gorman. She is survived by her children, Eileen and Robert Musgrove, John and Cookie Gorman, Ruth and John Fischer of Houston, and Michael and wife Cynthia Starnes of Pinckney, Mich. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

She was a lifelong resident of Houston, graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1937 and attended Washington University in St. Louis. She and her husband were founding members of St. Vincent de Paul Parish having lived in West University since 1939. She was a past president of the Women’s Council of Houston and the Women’s Club of Houston. We want to thank the staff at Holly Hall for all of their loving care during her long illness.

Friends are invited to visitation from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a Rosary beginning at 5:30 pm, Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 28, 2011, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway.
