Wow I'm  so in disbelief. I was actually on my way to Texas health school to apply for the massage program.  (I'm still going to apply). I attended texas health school for medical asst  a long long time go ... I believe when she first opened up. She was nice and kind always told me if I needed help or anything to come to her.. if I had problems come to her... she is surly going to be missed. To her family and friends you'll are in my prayers.. praying god gives you  peace and strength 🙏

Just learnt of the passing of my dear mentor and older friend, Jody Hawk! She was one of  my first inspiration when I arrived Houston many years ago. I found myself in her school as a CNA  student; approached her on the first day of school and told her I had 2 college degrees! Jody asked me to bring my credentials to school the next day and hired me on the spot as a Computer Instructor for her Medical Assistant program. She gave me a chance and showed me I could become anything I put my heart to. I stayed on, completed the program, and went on to obtain a Masters in Nursing Informatics while carrying her along and notifying of my accomplishments! I was looking forward to a day when I will be able to tell the world how she gave me a great chance. She was very kind to me! She believed so much in me! I celebrate you Ms. Hawk! Thank you so much for everything! God bless your loved ones! May they find open doors and help everywhere they go by His grace! Well done, God’s soldier🤎

Jody and I were good friends at Drexel.  I have such fond memories of our time there.

I just learned of God calling for Jody to come home. As I sit here in tears,  I remember the wonderful years that I was blessed with knowing and working with Jody. I will cherish all the memories.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Jody was a very special friend and colleague. I’m so thankful to have known her. 

I had the joy of meeting David and Jody at Houston's First Baptist, Can-Hope ministry and praying for her several times.  She was a valiant, joyful warrior for Christ and lived Phil. 3:10 out in a gracious way.  Jody truly shared in our Lord's suffering in a gracious and courageous way.  Our Lord has welcomed her to her eternal home with a "Welcome home, Jody, you have been a good and faithful servant, welcome home to the Joys of the Lord.".


I had the pleasure of studying God's Word with Jody for many years through Joy of Living.  She was such an amazing woman.  Her insights, experiences and great questions were a meaningful addition to our group discussions.  I admired her so much for the faith and trust she exhibited especially after her cancer diagnosis.  She honored the Lord with every word and action and always with the utmost integrity.  I pray you feel the Lord's comfort.  I am personally thankful to have known such a wonderful servant of God.

I worked with Jody at Texas School of Business for many years. Jody and David took a chance on a 18 year old kid and I rose to the challenge. Throughout my time at TSB Jody showed me what a true leader is and is still a role model in many decisions I make to this day in my current career.  Thank you for believing in me Jody and David, your kindness to this kid from San Antonio made a difference.  And Rachel, picking you up in the car pool was so much fun.

Prometric would like to send our condolences to David and the family. Jody was an asset to the community in so many ways. One is by Texas Health School being a Regional Test Site for students to take their CNA exams. She will be missed. 

I’ll will always remember meeting Jody at TSB and working side by side with her building the school.  I will also always remember Jody’s smile and giving spirit. She was smart, intelligent, caring and giving. She was also very faithful to the Lord.  I know she’s in her new beautiful home in heaven.

I knew she loved the Lord and always seeked His council when I first had a telephone job interview with her in 2003.  It continues to be an honor to work for the institution you both created.

To Jody’s Family — I am so sad to hear of the news of her passing. I had the honor to serve with her on an accreditation committee for a number of years. This committee gave strangers from different states a chance to unite in a passion we both shared. 

Jody’s passion for education, her commitment to students, and her laugh are forever stamped on my heart. She instantly accepted everyone and made sure they were comfortable in unknown situations. I am so sorry I did not know Jody was sick. I would have liked to see her and help in some way. I know, though, she is with the Lord. Jody loved God and would talk of her blessings and hopes attributing all power to God. She was empathetic with struggling souls and cared deeply about people. I think she just saw potential where others might give up. I was blessed to know her. To all her family, please accept my deepest condolences.
