

John Tudor Wilson, Jr., passed away quietly on February 7, 2016 in Mercy Villa Long Term Care in Springfield, Missouri. He was born December 19, 1915 in Columbus, Ohio to John T. Wilson and Jessie Buchanan Wilson. John earned bachelor and master degrees in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State University. He retired as a Chemical Engineer with the Dow Chemical Company, Freeport, Texas and several engineering consulting firms in Houston, Texas.
John was a very loyal and active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Freeport, Texas, then (Episcopal) Church of the Epiphany in Houston, Texas, until he relocated to Springfield in 2005. He was an avid bridge player, fan of the Houston Astros and his Ohio State Buckeyes football.
Preceded in death by wife, Roberta Elizabeth (Laidlaw) Wilson, his parents, John T. and Jessie Buchanan Wilson, and his sister, Imogene (Wilson) Moore.
Survived by his daughter, Rebecca Ann Fuqua and husband, Jim, of Springfield, and son, John T. Wilson, III and wife, Mona, of Katy, Texas. John has four grandchildren, Megan Conner, Jason Wilson, Stephen Fuqua, Amy Isiaho; and four great grandchildren.
The family is in gratitude to John’s long-time caregiver, Jeri Every, and to the entire staff at Mercy Villa.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 12, 2016, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am at Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 9600 S. Gessner, Houston, TX 77071. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
