Lane was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Landry Forster. He leaves behind: his mother, Neva Faught Forster; sisters Margaret Logan and husband Buddy, Ellen O’Connor and husband Craig; nieces Erin Fitzpatrick and husband Andy, Emily Logan, Mary Kate O’Connor, Shannon Baldwin; nephew Stuart Logan; his best friend Lauren Baldwin, as well as numerous aunts and cousins, and his beloved dog, Duncan.
Lane was born on January 26, 1960. As a life-long resident of Houston, Lane attended elementary and middle school at St. Vincent de Paul, and high school at Strake Jesuit, where he excelled at many sports including football and track. He also attended the University of Texas and Houston Baptist University.
Simply known as “Uncle” to most family, friends, and neighbors, Lane was always eager to lend a hand, solve a problem, or just shoot the breeze. He was everybody’s Uncle.
Lane was an avid reader, a technical guru, a music lover, and an expert debater about anything. Lane enjoyed traveling, photography, and numerous sports, especially his years coaching his niece’s softball teams. Most recently he enjoyed spending time at the barn, watching his niece train horses.
He prided himself in cooking delicious meals for whoever was around. His hot cakes, breakfast tacos, and grilled meats were especially famous.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
