

Lenora Post Carlson brought joy to lives of those around her from her birth on November 8, 1961, to her early death at 48 years old on July 30, 2010. Lenora was the wife of Dave Carlson and the loving mother of Ben and Grace Carlson of Bellaire, Texas. Lenora loved people and animals. She and Dave were married on December 21, 1996. In addition to her husband and children, Lenora is survived by her parents, Dr. Don E. Post and Dr. E. Victoria Post of Huntsville, Texas, her brother, Darren Post and his wife, Staci, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as well as the very large extended Carlson family.
Lenora was born in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Crockett High School in Austin, Texas in 1979. She attended Austin College in Sherman and graduated the University of Texas in Austin with a BA in Journalism, and the South Texas School of Law in Houston with a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree. She worked for various law firms in the Houston area before becoming a full-time mother in Bellaire.
Lenora was a Sunday School teacher at St. Luke’s Methodist Church and an active parent volunteer at St. John’s Lower School in Houston. The Natural Science Center was one of her pet projects, and amateur photography was one of her hobbies. She loved traveling and planning trips to interesting places, but the passion and focus of her life was the nurturing and loving of her family. She was the center of her family’s life.
Visitation will be held at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 3 from 6 until 9 PM. Interment at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery will be at 2 PM on August 4th, and the Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Methodist Church at 6 PM that same evening with a reception following in the Social Hall.
