Leon married Carol Portwood on June 27, 1959, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. They enjoyed many years of travel, especially to Colorado, with both family and friends. Leon and Carol loved playing golf together and in his later years, he could be found at the Country Place Carriage House playing poker for hours on end. Leon was a talented salesman and had a long career, first in the steel industry, then selling construction machinery with Waukesha Pearce Industries and Mustang Cat. He loved Caterpillar and was known for always wearing his Caterpillar jacket and for frequently passing out Cat hats to everyone. Leon loved his family deeply and he and Carol spent hours with their children and grandchildren at endless sporting events over the years. He loved when his 5 great-grandchildren came to visit and was thrilled to know one more was on the way. Leon will always be remembered by his son, Lee Williams; daughter, Kim Sumbera (Darrell); grandchildren, Ross Sumbera (Reagann), Abby Klein (Jackson), Kate Sumbera; great-grandchildren: John, Lucille and Charles Sumbera and Charlotte, Thomas and Baby Klein; siblings: Herndon Williams, Mary Williams, Rita Barousse and many nieces and nephews.

Leon endured many physical hardships over the last six years, and his main goal was to live in his home on the golf course till he was called home to be with the Lord. Achieving this goal would not have been possible without the tremendous help of his long-time doctor, Robert Jackson, his nurse Duane and the many loving and dedicated caregivers that helped him up to the very end. The family is forever thankful for everyone’s help.
