Marge was born on April 2, 1942 in New York to Vincent and Margaret Fitzgerald. Margie passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22nd at 1:00 AM after a long struggle with cirrhosis and liver failure. She was a 1964 graduate of St. Joseph’s College for Women in Brooklyn, New York. Margie taught History and Social studies for many years at Christ The King High school on Long Island New York before moving to Detroit with her newly married husband Bob. In Detroit she taught Grade School at St. Francis Home For Boys for several years. In 1984 she and Bob relocated to Houston Texas where Bob was an anesthesiologist on staff at M. D. Anderson Hospital, and Margie could finally relax and enjoy life at home. Margie had many hobbies. She loved sewing, needle point, gardening, and most of all playing cards. She was an avid Bridge Player, and played with many local groups. But if anything, Margie loved the slot machines. She and Bob would travel to Las Vegas, Louisiana (because slots are illegal in Texas) and anywhere there was a “one arm bandit”. Cruising with the Shipline “Holland America” was the next best thing, and she would always find the Casino on board. She and Bob did just about the whole world on Holland America, Asia, Alaska, the Caribbean, the Baltics, South America, Oceania, China, and pretty much everywhere else HA sailed to. Marge and Bob enjoyed a very full 47 years of married life together, laughing, cooking, and enjoying the wonderful times they had God gave them together. Today she is in Heaven where there is no pain nor sorrow.
