Mary Anne was born in Kansas City, MO and lived most of her life in Houston, TX. In Houston, she attended St. Agnes Academy and was later employed by the Hilton Hotel Corporation as an accountant for the Shamrock Hilton until it closed in 1986. After her many years at the Shamrock, she started her own accounting business, continuing her work for various clients through 2021.
Privately, Mary Anne was a devoted supporter of many animal rights organizations, including Guiding Eyes for the Blind and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, as well as nurturing many cats in need. Mary Anne will be dearly missed by her cat, Rocky. A devoted Catholic, she frequently volunteered her free time at Saint Francis De Sales Catholic Church. Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling and attending arts and crafts shows with her friends. She will be greatly missed on these adventures.
Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Kilty, and her brother, James Kilty.
She is survived by her brother, William Kilty, Jr. (Nancy) of LaGrange, TX; brother, Thomas Kilty (Jackie Bobo) of Houston, TX; and brother, Mark Kilty of Damon, TX. Nieces and nephews: Suzanne Callaway (Mike) of Brenham, TX; Meg Benkel (Brian) of Ft. Worth, TX; Kelly Kozel (Andy) of Tampa, FL; Jennifer Kilty of Berlin, Germany; James Kilty of Refugio, TX; and Justin Kilty of Richmond, TX. Also surviving her are numerous cousins and many cherished friends.
The family expresses their appreciation to Debbie and Phil McEvers of Houston, TX, Joann Barragan of Sunnyvale, CA and Karl Ewald of Denver, CO, for their kindness and support over the years.
Per Mary Anne’s request, a memorial service will not be held. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston. To offer your sympathy, donations in Mary Anne’s memory may be made to the 100 Club Houston (www.the100club.org) or to the charity of your choice.
