Matthew Sylvester Muratta , 80, passed away February 16, 2011. Matthew was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma in 1930 and enjoyed many boyhood years on his grandparent’s farm in Missouri. Matthew served his country in the Army during the Korean War and graduated from Texas A&I University with honors in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. His career as a Professional Engineer spanned 52 years. Matthew was also a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner.
Matthew is survived by Dorothea Muratta and their children; daughter, Janice Davis and husband Greg; son, Dr. Paul Muratta and wife Mary; daughters, Lisa Muratta, Lori Muratta and husband Antoine Plante, Dr. Stacy O’Malley and husband Ronan; grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Kyle, Lindsey, Kelly, Shannon, Chandler, Simone, Claire, William, Kieran, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 21, 2011 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris St.
