She was born in New Martinsville, WVA in 1922 to the late James and Margaret Manion. Monica trained as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Parkersburg WVA in the early 1940’s. She suspended her career on marrying Donald Kester and having their children. When they moved to Texas in the 1960’s, she worked at Bellaire General Hospital moving to Clarewood House as first the night nurse then as Director of Nursing for twenty plus years. In addition to being an excellent and attentive nurse, she was a loving and caring mother and wife.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Donald. She is survived by her daughter Mary Elizabeth of Friendswood and her son Michael Donald of Houston, her sister Maxine and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2012 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. Funeral Service and Burial will take place in Willow Island, West Virginia.
