Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she spent her life there raising a family and building her career. She devoted her professional life to speech pathology, working with individuals of all ages. She was also a founding member of the Association of Business and Professional Women in the Clear Lake area, a role she was especially proud of. Through this work, she helped open doors for professional women during a time when such opportunities were limited and hard-won.
Nancy did not back down from challenges and worked tirelessly on behalf of others in need. Guided by her own principles, she often lived in ways that ran counter to the expectations of her era. That same strength and independence shaped how she cared for those closest to her. She was unwavering in her commitment to her family and always willing to help, without question. This devotion was most evident in her role as a grandmother, which brought her great joy and pride. Outside of her professional and family life, she enjoyed gardening and reading crime novels, pursuits that brought her many hours of quiet enjoyment.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca Levine and Mark Levine, and by her sister Kay Onhaizer and brother Tommy Maxwell. She was predeceased by Arnold Levine and her grandchild, Rachel Hinterman.
Services will be held at noon on February 20, 2026, at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet Street, Bellaire, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Nancy’s memory by donating to a charity meaningful to you.
