Prentice Robinson

Prentice Robinson of Corrigan, Texas was born on October 13, 1943. She was called home to glory Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the age of 80. She was surrounded by family as she transitioned peacefully into the arms of the Lord. Prentice was the only child of the late Clara Austin and James Austin. She confessed hope in Christ at a very early age.

After graduating from high school Prentice moved to Houston, Texas where she met and married K.J. Robinson. They had four children, daughter, Semone Roth (Todd) sons Michael Robinson, William Robinson, and Timothy Robinson who passed away July 2018.

Prentice is also survived by her stepchildren Kenneth Robinson (Angela) Larry Robinson, and Gwendolyn “Peaches” Robinson. She has 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Everyone who knew Prentice felt her big heart and giving nature. She will be missed especially by the elementary students and staff at Cage Elementary School where she worked as a Crossing Guard for nearly 10-years after retiring from the Houston Independent School District (HISD) where she worked for nearly 40-years.

Prentice was an active member of Christ Community Church of Praise where she served as an Usher, Announcement Clerk and was a member of the Christ Community Church Choir under the leadership of Pastor Rudy Taylor.

Prentice loved traveling and seeing the world. She was fascinated with God’s beautiful creations both at home and abroad. Some of the countries she had the pleasure of visiting included Italy, Spain, France, Canada, and Mexico just to name a few. She did most of that traveling with her children, grandchildren and stepchildren. Prentice traveled so much with Carnival Cruise Line she earned the “Platinum Cruiser” status. She loved that silver card and all the perks that came with it.

Prentice will be greatly missed by all those that she has left behind. Our hearts are so broken by the loss of our dear Matriarch. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed. Take your wings, fly and rest well our beloved Prentice Robinson.

A memorial service for Prentice will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet Street, Bellaire, Texas. Following the memorial service will be a reception following service .
