Rena Beth Venker

Saverina Elizabeth (Rena Beth) Venker, age 91, died of natural causes on October 20, 2024 in Houston, Texas. She was a native of Houston and predeceased by her parents, George and Celia Barbato, her sibling George and adopted daughter Jeanne Marie (March 2, 1979).

Rena Beth was born October 9, 1933 to George Barbato and Celia Salerno. She is a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School, St. Agnes Academy and The University of St. Thomas, Houston, Texas (1955). She taught school at St. Anne Catholic School and worked at The Regis School of the Sacred Heart and St Francis de Sales Catholic School for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald Parry Venker, Sr. and three children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Donald Jr. (wife Kymberly), grandson Ben (wife Christina), great-grandchildren Hayes and Owen, granddaughter Sarah and grandson Ethan; Meg (husband Tim), grandchildren Nolan and Brody; Ted (wife Lisa), grandchildren Jack, Sam, Nick and Finn.

Rosary will be at 9:30am with Mass to follow at 10:00am on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Buffalo Speedway in Houston, Texas. Father Houston Okonma, Parochial Vicar of St. Vincent de Paul officiating.

Interment will be graveside at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
