Robert Lee Stannard

Robert (Bobby) Lee Stannard, 71, of Houston,Texas died on September 3rd, 2015 after a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer surrounded by his wife and family. Bobby was a native Houstonian and a 1968 graduate of the University of Houston. He lived a life of service to his country, his church, and his family. He served in the U.S. Army from November 1968 to August 1970. He and his beloved wife Ana helped newly engaged couples plan and prepare for a life of faith and love on Engaged Encounter Weekends and also helped with sponsor couple preparations. It gave Bobby and Ana great joy to have the privilege of volunteering on spiritual retreats helping high school youth groups find God in their lives.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Charles Harrison Stannard and Margaret Elaine Benz Stannard and his brother Charles Richard Stannard. He is survived by his wife Ana Maria Ramirez Stannard, sons Robert Stephen Stannard, Scott Anthony Stannard and his wife Hilary, his daughter Teresa Joy Cole and her husband Bryce, brother Donald Michael (Mike) Stannard and his wife Ester, and sister Katherine Ann Stannard Meglasson and her husband Martin. Bobby was blessed with 5 grandchildren Caleb, Cooper, Andie Rose, Blaise, and Bauer.

Visitation will held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a vigil service beginning at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 8th at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10330 Hillcroft St., Houston, TX 77096 on Wednesday, September 9th 2015 at 10:00 am.
