

Rose Lee Szurek passed away in Bellaire, Texas on December 30, 2011. Rose was born in Galveston on June 7, 1920, resided in Texas City for more than fifty years, graduated Ursuline Academy in Galveston and New Orleans and retired from Lipton Tea after twenty years of service.
She is survived by her son, Gary C. Szurek and wife, Theo; daughter, Marsha L. O’Keefe and husband, Michael; son, Ron J. Szurek and wife Peggy; and son, Mark L. Szurek. In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Alan S. Tinney, Jeffrey O’Keefe, Eddie Szurek, Bill Skinner, John Taylor, John Pascucci, and Jessie Covington as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris, Bellaire, Texas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX 77025. Rite of Committal will follow at 12:30 p.m., at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 7801 Gulf Fwy., I-45 South at Hughes Road in Dickinson, Texas.
