Aunt Shirley’s smile is the first thing I remember when I reflect on my memories of her and Uncle Sam. A shining smile that simply lit the room. But more than just a smile, she always followed up with love and kindness. Every single act was enshrined with love. 
While the vast majority of our time spent together was when I was too young to remember, it is their visits and our home videos that fill my heart. From the anticipation that they were going to visit, to the presents from AMERICA to Ticky Ticky Tumbo stories, their memories are flush with a feeling of home. 
In my life, I take Aunt Shirley with me in all my interactions. I strive to be like her – open, kind, and courageous. She has given me one of the best gifts I could ever receive, the ability to simply open your heart to others. To display love and kindness to all. 
May her memory be a blessing to all,

I really don't know what to say because words excape me now.  But I will do my best to explain who she was to me This was the kind of lady that anyone would be happy to call a friend. I loved her and her family very much and she will be  Missed. My prayers go out to the family. I thank God for allowing lead to have the time we had together and hopefully we will be together again and eternity. I really love you Shirley 

She was just Shirley to us, back in 1978, when we met for the first time. We were new arrivals in town (“another damn Yankee”) and she was the wife of Boaz’s boss. What a boss, and what a wife. They immediately took us in as their own, to add to their three sons who were around our age. They became Aunt Shirley and Uncle Sam upon the arrival of our first born, because, as they explained in all modesty, Grandpa and Grandma was being saved for our children’s biological grandparents. 
But Shirley became a grandmother to our kids (all three of them), all through the years and all over the world. Shirley and Sam came to visit us in every country we lived in, came to each boy’s bar mitzva in Israel, and raved about the great visits they had with us. We, in turn (we hope) gave them the royal treatment on every visit, because we loved doing it, and because they deserved it. 
A royal woman, who was an integral part of a royal couple all those years. The number of Sundays we spent hanging out in the house on Braeswood, just having fun, the kids playing with the same toys Shirley had saved all those years from her own boys. How the wheel turns……now our grandchildren play with these toys, learn Tikki Tikki Tombo Bo So Rambo……..and keep the traditions going. 
Good traditions, like good times, are hard to come by. All those breakfasts that Shirley hosted on Yom Kippur, all those Superbowl Sundays when Sam made pizza from morning till evening, all those hours spent playing UNO on just a regular Sunday…….they are treasures that will be cherished in our memories forever.
Shirley, you always were a classy lady, and so you lived your life……with class. 
We will remember you always……your smile, your sense of humor, your warmth and hospitality, your show of affection, your generosity……and they will be passed on to our next generations, because for us, you will always be the young and welcoming “Aunt Shirley and Uncle Sam”.
