William Coon, better known as Bill, was born and spent his early childhood in Arkansas on the family farm. In his youth, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and walking through the woods. When he was fifteen, Bill first began learning about cars from his uncle while working at his Brooklyn car repair shop. When Bill turned seventeen, he joined the U.S. Army and was sent overseas to Japan where he joined the 11th Airborne and Glider division to become a paratrooper. After serving honorably during World War II, he returned to the United States and worked as an auto mechanic for forty-five years. More importantly, upon his return to the United States he married his wife Amy Lou Smith and had a daughter, Rhonda. They moved to Houston where he spent the rest of his life. He enjoyed traveling and loved playing craps at the casino. We lay Bill to rest with the love of his life Amy Lou who has been patiently waiting for him since 2008. He is survived by his daughter Rhonda, son-in-law Ronald, and two granddaughters, Kelly and Keri.
