

Anita was born January 14, 1940 in Ft. Morgan, CO to Edward Clarence and Margaret Lavina (Snowden) Cox. They preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Gene Hervey, Jim Kjos and Bill Lowe; her son, Steve Hervey; and brother, Eldon Cox.
Anita is survived by her loving daughters, Marsha (Earl) Althardt of Caseyville, IL and Mona (Dave) Smith of Collinsville, IL; daugthter-in-law, Terrie Hervey; step-daughter, Barbie Dixon (Mark Wottowa) of Millstadt, IL; grandchildren, Todd (Dina) Althardt, Kelly (Mark) Kuechle, Steven (Smitha) Hervey, Cassie (Tony) Steen, Eric (Elina) Smith and Adam Smith; great-grandchildren, Eli Smith, Anthony Steen, Olivia Smith, Maddie Steen, Carissa Steen, Laylah Steen, Kylie Kuechle, Jordyn Kuechle, Caleb Althardt, Ethan Althardt, Adrian Smith, David Smith, Elina Smith and Isaac Hervey; siblings, Ervin (Pam) Cox of Florida and Carolyn (Kenny) Ayers of California; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Murphy.
Anita was a loving wife, devoted family member, and a woman with a deep love for music. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper before her retirement.
Anita was musically gifted and enjoyed playing both the organ and the piano. The memories of the family singing and playing together will always hold a dear place in all of their hearts. She and her husband, Bill, loved going dancing and shared many wonderful times together.
She especially looked forward to family reunions with her extended family in Colorado. Most of all, Anita loved her family dearly and treasured every moment she spent with them.
She will be remembered for her warm heart, her love of music, and the joy she brought to those around her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL.
A time of visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at the church.
